More about me…
My Approach
I am a person-centred counsellor, which means our work is guided by you. You set the pace, bring what matters most, and I offer a calm, non-judgemental space to explore it. I believe you’re the expert on your life; my role is to listen deeply, reflect gently, and support you to find your own way forward.
What Matters in Counselling
For me, counselling is built on trust. You need to feel safe enough to share openly, knowing you won’t be judged and that your confidentiality is respected. Empathy is just as important—I want you to feel truly heard and understood. I also believe counselling works best as a partnership, so we’ll set goals together and check in along the way. And because everyone’s story is unique, I approach each person with cultural sensitivity and respect for their background and values.
Trauma-Informed Care
I’m a trauma‑informed practitioner. That means I understand how trauma can affect thoughts, feelings, relationships, and the body—and I prioritise safety, choice, and empowerment throughout our work. We’ll move gently, at your pace, and I’ll never push you to share more than feels right. Avoiding re‑traumatisation and building a steady sense of safety are central to my approach.
Why I Love This Work
What I love most is being alongside people during moments of courage and growth. It’s incredible to witness those small shifts—when something clicks, when a heavy feeling starts to lift, or when someone begins to feel more like themselves. Those moments of connection are why I do this work.
A Little About Me
Outside of counselling, I recharge in nature with my dog, Luna—a big, fluffy Alaskan Malamute who brings plenty of joy (and muddy pawprints!) into my life. Time outdoors helps me stay grounded and present for the people I work with.
